Cover of InMurrysville

Magazine

Bob's painting Westmoreland Harvest (24 x 36, oil/canvas, 2006) was selected for the cover of the 2007 Winter issue of InMurrysville Community Magazine.  Inside is an article on the artist by Barb Glozik.

Additional Background

 

Art Education: Mostly self-taught. Took several extra-curricular courses on Drawing in High School. In 1988 and 1989 enrolled in and completed two Continuing Adult Education courses on Portrait Painting and one course on use of the Air Brush at Memphis State University (now University of Memphis). Have read numerous books on art and viewed dozens of instructional video by many fine artists.

 

Other Experience:  Was an art instructor, teaching a William Alexander Beginning Oil Painting course for Jo-Ann Fabrics at their stores in Monroeville, PA and on McKnight Road north of Pittsburgh in 2003 and 2004. Also performed several in-store live oil painting demonstrations.

 

Have spoken and given art demonstrations at the invitation of various groups in the Pittsburgh / Greensburg area.  Also invited several times to demonstrate oil painting to Elementary School classes and to judge several art competitions.

 

Served as the judge for the 2009 Community Arts and Activities Center (CAAC) Juried Art Exhibition, November 7-29, 2009 in Jeannette, Pennsylvania.

 

Was asked to judge a poster contest for the Lions Club International in 2004. Have served as a judge for the Heritage Elementary School Science and Art Fair (Franklin Regional School District, Murrysville, PA) in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

 

Served as  the judge for the NORWIN ART LEAGUE'S Member Exhibition at the Monroeville Mall in September, 2008.

 

Was asked to serve, on May 3, 2008, as one of two jurors to review submissions and select artists who would be allowed to exhibit at the GALLERY SPACE at the Monroeville, Pennsylvania Public Library in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

 

Associations:  Presently a member of the PITTSBURGH SOCIETY OF ARTISTS (PSA) and the EAST SUBURBAN ARTISTS LEAGUE (ESAL).  Formerly the Exhibitions Chairman for ESAL.
