Bob’s oil painting Autumn Fire, 14 x 18, oil/canvas, 2007 (left) was given a Judge’s Award at the EAST SUBURBAN ARTISTS LEAGUE'S ANNUAL SHOW AT CCAC BOYCE CAMPUS, Monroeville, PA, in September, 2008.  Because of the wide variety of media exhibited, ESAL decided to issue 1 Best of Show, 6 Judges’ Awards and 7 Honorable Mentions.  Artist Patrick Lee was the judge. SEPTEMBER, 2008: MURRYSVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY: Selected photographs by Bob Bickers were on exhibit at the East Suburban Artists League's new permanent display throughout the month of September at the Murrysville Public Library in the Murrysville, PA Municipal Building on Sardis Road.

I am happy to announce that I have been screened, accepted and have in fact joined the Pittsburgh Society of Artists (PSA). I hope my involvement with this group will help me grow as an artist and provide more opportunities to bring my art to the public.  On a similar note, my attempt to join the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh (AAP) a few weeks later was not successful, but it was my first attempt and I may try again.  It did take two attempts to be accepted by PSA. JUDGE BOB: I was asked, and I was glad to serve, as one of two jurors who, on May 2nd, reviewed and selected artists that were invited to hold exhibitions at the Gallery Space (at the Monroeville, PA public library) in 2009, 2010 and 2011.  It was truly an honor to serve in this capacity and provide me with valuable insight into the selection process. --Bob Bickers

JUDGE BOB x 2: I had the priviledge to serve as the judge of the Norwin Art League's Annual Members' Art Show at Monroeville Mall on September 11, 2008.  This was truly a large and very professional, well-organized exhibition.  The large number of categories and awards to decide was daunting, but I enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to see so much fine art and to meet many of the artists too.  This was an honor I would love to repeat.

JUDGE BOB x 3: I was asked by the organizers of this year's Annual Art and Science Fair at Heritage Elementary School (K-5th grade) in Murrysville, PA, to participate as a judge on May 6, 2008. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience this time as I have the last four years. --Bob Bickers

DECEMBER, 2007.  EAST SUBURBAN ARTISTS LEAGUE 2007 ANNUAL SHOW AT PENN STATE NEW KENSINGTON CAMPUS GALLERY. Bob had one painting and one photo on exhibit in this show. Show ran the whole month of December, 2007.

   Bob's painting Westmoreland Harvest (24 x 36, oil/canvas, 2006) was selected for the cover of the 2007 Winter issue of InMurrysville Community Magazine.  Inside is an article on the artist by Barb Glozik.  While I was aware of the article being written, I had no idea my artwork would be on the cover. Many thanks to the editors and publishers of InMurrysville Magazine and to reporter Barb Glozik for this wonderful and unexpected surprise.
